Business Development Manager - Hertfordshire - £70000
One of the leading British retailers are looking for a New Business Development Manager to work from their head office in Bedfordshire.
· Identify and develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for the Brand to optimise sales revenue.
· Presenting the Brand to potential clients through direct communication, in face to face meetings, telephone calls and emails
· Complete the new business process to contractual agreement.
· Maintain ongoing relationship with the new business client after the opening of the new business for an agreed & appropriate time frame
· Develop a 'Standards of Performance' document that is appropriate for all the relevant departments which liaise with the new businesses, or current businesses. This should be designed to ensure that everyone is aware of their responsibilities and key performance indicators, thereby developing and maintaining excellent working relationships*.
· Develop a procedure for managing new business opportunities, e.g. new leads, administration process, timescales etc, utilising and developing as appropriate the skills and knowledge of individuals in the business and communicate to relevant departments.
· Own the critical path from concept to opening
· You will be expected to spend at least 75% of your time generating new business opportunities in meetings etc. Travel is a major factor and is predicted to be predominantly UK / Europe and longer term further a field with some overnight stops.
