Our client is looking to recruit an Area Manager to cover a wide area of stores on the South East Coast from Brighton, Canterbury, Coulsdon, Crawley, Dover, Eastbourne, Gravesend, Hasting, Hove, Sittingbourne, Tunbridge Wells and Worthing.

Your duties will be varied:

·Effectively monitor controllable costs, including shrink and to keep to a minimum

·Develop and maintain progress for recruitment, training, motivation and discipline of store managers and hourly paid personnel to ensure excellence of:

·Store operations and procedures

·Supervisory skills with a view to succession planning

·Lead by example and promote good leadership qualities among Store Managers.

·Act as a coach on store visits, encouraging continuous improvement.

·Ensure store teams are focused in improving their selling techniques, in order to maximise sales in every store.

·Continually monitor store documentation to ensure accurate completion, with particular attention to security implications.

·Maintain good communication links verbally and in writing among stores, with District Manager, and between Support Centre personnel and field to efficiently disseminate all information necessary to district operations.

·Supervise the operation of new store openings, closures and/or re-locations, ensuring adherence to operational schedules.

·Complete, distribute and administer store visit reports, ensuring full compliance of the report is carried out.

·Issue Store Manager’s objectives for future visits, with completion deadlines for monitoring purposes.

·Ensure the adequate controls and disciplines are in place to serve and protect company funds and assets.

·Ensure the compliance with Health and Safety, security rules and company procedures.

·Safeguards cash, products and assets of the stores within your district.

·Monitor, summarise and report on competitive companies’ products and prices.

·Attend and participate at stock takes being conducted within the designated district.

·Complete and submit monthly operations reports as required.

·Perform any other duties as requested by the District Manager or Executive team.

Prior area management experience, preferably in retail.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Ability to organise, motivate, train and supervise personnel reporting to role.

Experience in managing individual performance.

Full clean driving licence.

Flexible and able to meet changing business priorities.

Calm and Professional.

Team Player.

Down to earth with a good sense of humour.

A leader, who takes ownership of their district.
