About us
Established in 1884, Jaeger is an iconic luxury British fashion brand, renowned for designing contemporary, innovative and stylish womenswear, menswear and accessories.
Fashion entrepreneur Harold Tillman acquired Jaeger in 2003 and appointed Belinda Earl, the former Chief Executive of Debenhams plc, as Group Chief Executive in September 2004.
In 2009 Jaeger celebrates 125 years as an iconic fashion house. To commemorate, the brand honours its heritage with the launch of the '125 Limited Edition' collection, featuring unique pieces inspired by original 1960 Jaeger designs, and publishes 'Jaeger 125', the first official book devoted to Jaeger, past and present, written by fashion curators Amy de la Haye and Judith Clark from London College of Fashion.
The Jaeger London womenswear collection – designed by Karen Boyd, Jaeger London Head of Design, led by Stuart Stockdale, Jaeger Design Director – launched in Autumn/Winter ’05. Jaeger London was first presented on the LFW international stage in February 2008, to great critical acclaim.
Stuart Stockdale, Jaeger Design Director, joined the brand in 2008 having acquired wholesale and international experience at Pringle, Halliday and Brown, J Crew and Jean Paul Gaultier.
Jaeger launched its first IT bag in Spring/Summer ‘06 and has seen strong year-on-year sales increases. The Autumn/Winter '08 ‘Tilly bag’ is Jaeger's best-selling bag to date and will be superseded by Jaeger's iconic '125 bag' for Spring/Summer '09.
Jaeger continues to invest in its aspirational advertising campaigns featuring fashion’s top models including: Erin O’Connor, Laura Bailey, Jade Parfitt, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Kiera Gormley, Behati Prinsloo, Alana Zimmer, Freja Beha Erichsen, Angela Lindvall, Fenton Bailey, Conrad Matschke, Danny Beaucham, James Rousseau, Jamie Strachan, Will Chalker and Mat Gordon.
Since 2005, Jaeger has focused on UK brand expansion, including its return to Harrods and Selfridges (the brand became the first retailer to operate independently within Selfridges in the 1930s). To date, Jaeger has a total of 142 UK and European stores, including the Jaeger Westfield flagship store, the largest store opened by Jaeger in five years. Internationally, Jaeger is sold in Australia, Europe, Japan, the Middle East and North & South America. Significant investment continues to be made in Jaeger’s existing retail portfolio and the majority of Jaeger stores are now new or completely modernised.
Jaeger Online is rapidly expanding and is now Jaeger's second largest store.
Spring 2009 sees the launch of Jaeger's first Home collection, reinforcing Jaeger's luxury lifestyle positioning.
